Plant Care

Watering

Water once a week or when the soil starts to become slightly dry at the top. Keep the soil lightly moist at all times, but do not overwater as this will cause brown spots and leaf drop. Curly or dry leaves suggest, the plant is dry and needs watering. Water in the early morning or late evening when temperatures are cooler. Always check your soil before watering.

Light

Bright indoor light or indirect sun. 6 hours to 8 hours

Temperature

Maintain temperatures between 18°C - 24°C. Avoid draughts as these can create undesirable temperature fluctuations. Consider giving your plant an occasional misting twice every week to maintain the optimum humidity level.

Fertilizer

Apply liquid fertilizer once in 15 days when the plant is actively growing. For best results use Folikraft ready to use Indoor Plant Food.

Plant Bio

Calathea musaica ‘Network’ has beautifully decorated leaves and is an unusually graceful plant for any home! An easy plant to care for but do not allow it to dry out. Calathea network is one of the most interesting, among the 300 different types of Calathea plants, with the unique mosaic-like markings on the leaves.

A Calathea plant likes bright indirect light. Too much direct sunlight will burn the leaves. It can grow in partial shade as well. Calathea network likes warm temperature and doesn’t like cold drafts. High humidity is a must for this plant. You can use a humidifier close to the plant or place the plant on a tray filled with pebbles and water. Be sure the plant is sitting on the pebbles and not in the water. It is very sensitive to water quality. Use distilled water, rainwater or allow your tap water to sit out overnight before using it. Keep the soil moist and don’t let it sit in water, which means the soil requires good drainage. Feed the plant from spring to autumn once a month with general houseplant feed diluted to half the strength.
