Plant Care

Watering

During summer, Water daily or when the soil starts to become slightly dry at the top. During Winter season water once in 2 days or when the soil starts to become slightly dry at the top. Keep the soil lightly moist at all times, but do not overwater as this will cause brown spots and leaf drop. Curly or dry leaves suggest, the plant is dry and needs watering. Water in the early morning or late evening when temperatures are cooler. Always check your soil before watering.

Light

During summer season keep the plants in shaded area and during winter season plants can withstand direct/indirect light.

Temperature

During summer season or when the temperature is above 45°C place the plant in shaded area. During winter season or the when the temperature is below 45°C the plants can be directly placed in direct/indirect sunlight.

Fertilizer

Apply liquid fertilizer or slow release fertilizer once in 15 days. Always fertilizer the plants during the morning hours when the temperature is low. For best results use Folikraft ready to use Outdoor Plant Food / Flower Booster.

Plant Bio

The trumpet-shaped, yellow blossoms of the deciduous Caribbean trumpet tree (Tabebuia aurea) appear briefly in a spectacular display of color. In addition to its silvery foliage, the Caribbean trumpet tree has attractive silvery, corky bark. It grows from 30 to 40 feet tall and often leans. Its branches and trunk are typically contorted with two or three major trunks or branches dominating an asymmetrical crown.

While tolerant of a variety of soils, Tabebuia growing conditions must include a warm location with no freezing possibility. The plants have a high drought tolerance but do prefer fertile soil with good drainage. If your garden has clay, loam, sand or any soil pH, these will still fulfill appropriate Tabebuia growing conditions. Tabebuia is adaptable to full to partial sun locations and some will even tolerate a light freeze and come back in the milder zones. Pruning the dead wood and brittle old stems is an essential part of Tabebuia tree care. Tabebuia trees are attractive and adjust to many growing conditions. Adding this tree to your landscape is worth the effort it will take to find the plant. The rewards are numerous and the care is minimal.
